Depression/Anxiety

Depression and anxiety mood disorders affect one in five women in America.  Causes vary, including external life transitions such as trauma, divorce, or death of a loved one.  Internal causes include hormonal imbalances such as an underactive thyroid, inefficient pituitary, or a deficient nervous system or hypothalamus.  In most cases, there is a physiological component.  In other words, your brain chemistry may be out of balance!

Neurotransmitter Imbalance

If your neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin or epinephrine or norepinephrine are deficient or blocked, you may feel tired or depressed, or anxious with a restless mind.  In these stressful times, more and more people need nutritional support for the brain: electrolytes (magnesium, potassium), folic acid (a B vitamin essential for the nervous system), or amino acids, the building blocks of proteins.  As an example, the sympathetic nervous system will test weak after a trauma.  While emotional counseling is important, physiological healing will be incomplete without proper nutrition for the brain.  Using applied kinesiology along with symptoms, I can test for deficiencies and give nutrients to re-balance the nervous system so healing can occur.   This can be true even if you are taking drugs such as antidepressants.
